Each year Pantone’s color experts are being invited from all over the world to Pantone Institute, for a 2-day top-secret event. Behind closed doors, experts will pick color of the year. It is worth mentioning, that chosen color must be derived from the “spirit of the era”. Experts are influenced by fashion, industry, art, travel, lifestyle, design, new technologies, materials etc. So, we can say that the color of the year does not create trends but rather – in a way – results from them.
Classic Blue has been announced as The Color of the Year 2020. According to Pantone’s experts, Classic Blue “instills calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue shade highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.” This color resembles a bit the sky at dusk, jeans or blueberries. Is graceful in its simplicity plus brings a sense of peace to the human spirit, offering asylum.
